The idea for the 615BR Bowrider didn’t come from a spec sheet. It came from conversations at boat shows. Time and again, Bar Crusher heard the same thing from fishing boat owners: they loved their boat for fishing, but it wasn’t the boat they’d take the family out in for a weekend at the lake, some tow sports or a relaxed day with the kids. The 615BR was built to close that gap.
Designed for the Person Who Doesn’t Fish, Too
Bar Crusher’s Peter Cleveland explains the boat partly through his own family. His wife and daughter aren’t especially interested in fishing, but they’ll happily come out with a magazine or a book and relax. That was a deliberate design target: a boat that works as well for the non-angler on board as it does for the person casting lures.
Bar Crusher’s First True Crossover
The 615BR was Bar Crusher’s first true crossover model, built to do both jobs well instead of compromising towards one. The goal was to tick every box hardcore anglers expect, while also delivering real comfort for family members more interested in tow sports or a nice day on the water.
No Compromise on the Fishing Side
The family-first brief wasn’t allowed to cost any fishing capability. The 615BR is built on Bar Crusher’s Gen2® hull with Waveslicer® design, Quickflow® water ballast and the Rigideck® sealed sub-floor. Gen2’s Delta Flare® adds hydrodynamic lift to get the boat up and out of the hole quickly, plus a higher bow attitude and better spray deflection for a drier ride. On board you’ll find an easy-clean floor, tackle drawers and an overhead rod rack with shade. The forward lounge doubles as a casting platform, so the space that’s comfortable for relaxing converts straight into fishing space when you need it.
Family-Focused Details
At the back, a swim platform with a ladder makes it easy to swim off the boat and climb back aboard from the water. A baitboard that swaps for a skipole handles the tow sports. Options include an anchor winch, floor matting and a deckwash in the side pocket.

Like the rest of the range, the 615BR comes on a trailer engineered to match its hull, fitted with Bar Crusher’s stainless steel Bar Catch® system for single-handed launch and retrieve. It’s designed to sit stable behind the car at highway speed as much as it’s designed to load easily at the ramp.
Twenty Years in the Making
Bar Crusher describes the 615BR as a team effort that rolled two decades of boat-building experience into a new direction for the brand. It was a first step down a new path, not an incremental update to an existing model. That path has since grown into the BR Series, including the bigger, faster 670BR.
