Safe and low-maintenance...

Bar Crusher has always had the safest, lowest-maintenance and fail-safe boat fuel tank system on the market.

Known as SafeTank™, our advanced fuel system has recently been updated with our innovative fill-stop fuel filler. The easy-access rear fuel filler, located in the transom step-through, has been designed with a fill-stop valve to ensure an expansion space is left in the top of the tank, minimising the chance of fuel spillage. A space should always be left in the boat fuel tank of any vessel, to allow for expansion of fuel in changing weather

(Characteristic behaviour of this fill-stop valve is a 'knock' that occasionally can be heard at certain levels of tank capacity. Don't worry, this 'knock' means this innovative safety feature is working! It's just an inherent part of these advanced fuel tanks.)

In addition to the rear fuel filler, SafeTank™ has an in-floor inspection port allowing a quick visual check of fuel (ie. you can look directly into the tank). In the event of picking-up bad fuel, it can also be drained directly from this port.

Bar Crusher owners love having the ability to see into their boat petrol tanks. This function is not offered in other boats being built in Australia.

The innovative SafeTank™ design is an engineered, baffled and pressure-tested tank that’s welded into the deck to provide even greater strength to the boat. All fuel hoses and hose clamps in our SafeTank™ system are located above the fully-welded and sealed floor, which means they’re easily accessible to safely inspect and service.

In contrast, the boat petrol tanks in some other plate boats are situated deep in the bilge. The typical approach is to silicone and screw a cover plate over the tank. Not only does this weaken the structure of the boat, the reality is conducting a fuel system safety inspection means disassembling your boat. When things are too hard, they usually don’t happen.

To help your marine mechanic guarantee your fuel system’s in good order, your boat must be easy to inspect and service! Remember: when a fuel hose perishes or hose clamp loosens, fuel can leak into the sub-floor, turning the boat into a bomb.

Bar Crusher’s SafeTank™ advanced fuel system completely eliminates this risk!

Fuel used and fuel remaining: for a traditional boat fuel gauge to work correctly, the boat must be level and still... and boats are very rarely level and still when on the water. Instead, the data feeding from the outboard engine(s) is connected into the boat's MFD for fuel usage data, which is far more accurate than traditional analogue boat fuel gauges. Depending on the engine brand, the engine may have it's own separate digital fuel gauge, although most boat owners opt for the direct feed into the MFD.
