Full-Length Storage Under the Side Decks
Under the side decks, Bar Crusher builds strong, full-length side pockets with no internal bracing in the way. There’s enough clear space to run rods, gaffs and nets the full length of the pocket without them snagging. It’s a simple design choice that matters in practice: gear that’s easy to stow and grab doesn’t end up cluttering the cockpit mid-session. On Raider series models, those pockets are fully carpet-lined too.
Why Cast Aluminium, Not Stainless, for Rod Holders
Here’s a useful piece of buyer education: Bar Crusher deliberately avoids stainless steel rod holders in its aluminium decks. Stainless and aluminium in direct, ongoing contact create a well-known galvanic corrosion risk. The stainless can speed up corrosion in the surrounding aluminium and cause paint to blister and lift over time. So Bar Crusher fits cast aluminium rod holders, which avoids the dissimilar-metal problem without extra isolation or maintenance. It’s the same reasoning behind Bar Crusher’s aluminium Bar Tab trim tabs.
A Deck Built to Take a Beating
On top of the decks, Bar Crusher uses a non-slip urethane deck grip for two practical reasons. It stands up to gear being loaded and unloaded at the jetty, pontoon or driveway without scratching, and it stays non-slip underfoot whether you’re fishing or docking. It works with the wide, flat side decks and Game Lock coaming to give a secure position at the gunwale.
Lighting Built to Last
Bar Crusher uses LED lighting from Hella, a recognised marine lighting brand, for navigation and anchor lights, with coaming lights fitted on the boat shown. It’s a small line item, but Bar Crusher is clear that this isn’t a place to cut costs. Paying more for durable lighting up front means no failed or corroded fittings later.
