A Redesigned Roof for the C Series
Bar Crusher’s cuddy cabin (C Series) models have always offered protection from the elements. Now the C Series gets a completely new hard top-style roof. It’s a stronger, double-thickness structure mounted on a solid targa bar, and it folds away for storage, so you’re not locked into a fixed high profile.
Built Like a Hard Top, Folds Like a Cuddy
The new roof brings real hard top features to the C Series: a rocket launcher for rod storage, an LED light underneath, and wiring runs ready for anything mounted on the roof. Full clears surround the structure, creating a properly protected cabin area with clear, all-round visibility. The clears are removable and the roof folds down when it’s time to store the boat.
Fishing-Ready Storage Above the Cabin
On top of the standard rear rocket launcher, an optional side-mount roof rack holds up to six more rods. That’s a meaningful upgrade for anglers who carry a full spread and don’t want rods taking up cockpit space. The reinforced superstructure also gives a solid mounting base for radar and other electronics.
Folding Down for Low-Clearance Storage
The whole system is designed around one problem: not every owner has a tall garage or carport. With the clears removed, the roof folds down and, together with the folding windscreen, brings the boat down to cabin height. On the 575C, that takes height on the trailer from 3100mm to 2210mm. On the 670C Bay Raider, it goes from 3280mm to 2190mm. Check your carport or garage clearance against your model’s specs.
Important: the fold-down system is for storage only. Always raise and secure the roof before towing.
How the Fold-Down Works
Folding the roof is straightforward:
- Release the pelican clips on both sides.
- Pull the R-clips and pins from the targa bar.
- Undo the quick-release ball studs.
- Support the roof and place padding on the baitboard.
- Tilt the roof back on the targa bar and lower it until it rests on the baitboard.
- Fold the windscreen down separately and secure it under the dash with its own support prop.
With both down, the whole structure sits at cabin height.
