Hi Peter,
We recently purchased a used 530C and have used it a couple of times now, so I just thought I'd give you a bit of feedback.
We love the boat and it has lived up to all expectations in regard to build quality, finish and ride. We had trim tabs fitted after market and I am glad we did. I am surprised you haven't had more people fit them - I definitely regard them as a necessity in the conditions we get up here in Cairns.
Just a couple of suggestions. In the hot tropical climate the kill tank in the 530C is pretty useless. Not only is it too short for the common pelagics like mackerel, but being exposed to the sun it heats up considerably. I realise there is not much room to make a bigger one without compromising fuel capacity, but insulating it like an esky would be a nice touch. Even with a reduced capacity it would be useful for at least keeping bait cool.
Alternatively, and one I'd probably prefer would be to use the space as an auxiliary fuel tank. This would be useful up here where it is a long distance to the outer reef fishing grounds. I'll probably be using ours to carry extra fuel in jerry can/s under the floor.
Anyway, thanks for a great boat.
Cheers.
