Peter,
Your feedback request gives me a chance to do what I have been meaning to do since I took delivery of my (I mean our) 530c in March 07 (we picked red/black decals and interior, looks great with the black 115 Suzuki on the back). That is, to congratulate you and your employees on the outstanding workmanship and attention to detail that is reflected in the finished product. You guys must get it as well, you're at the boat ramp launching / retrieving or washing down and your interrupted by people who know quality when they see it. The thing that gets them in is the welding of the bottom sheets along the bow line and the keel. They can not help running their fingers along the edge. I have a smile on my face every time and I am always happy to answer questions or take compliments on your behalf. Thanks. Coming from a sheet metal trade background I have a keen eye for workmanship and design details that work, and these are the first things that caught my attention at the dealers. It all works as it should from transom ladder, the transom platform, the walkthrough, the rear seat, the bait board, the kill and live tanks, the adjustable roof (which we have to remove and fold down after each outing - operation is quick and easy), the front hatch - great access to the anchor, and for entry if you are launching and retrieving the Bar Crusher yourself straight off and on the trailer, the wide gunnels and sealed flooring are great. Quality fittings like the steering wheel, seats (great idea getting them off the floor), rod holders and pumps. The only thing that we have had to do, is add a drain from the kill tank to the bilge pump, so it can be washed out and drained when at rest fishing, probably standard now.
The Bar Crusher is the first boat that we have owned, so we had nothing to compare with. We were after something a bit smaller to start with , but we had a look at this neat / awesome looking boat, and could not go past it, the entire package is value for money. We read review after review on the Bar Crushers and they were all correct. Ride is quite and smooth, cuts into corners like a knife, and at rest when fishing, it is safe and easy to move around on with the high gunnels, safe with kids on board. The fishing area is clean and neat with nothing to catch your lines on, and is easily hosed out and maintained. Being in Southern Tasmania, and new to operating our own boat, one of the best features is knowing that if the weather turns nasty, we can pull the roof down and punch our way thru and the Bar Crusher can take it, nothing moves, nothing rattles and we are safe and dry. We have mainly used it for inshore fishing and cruising so far, but coming into our first full summer we will be heading to the Tasman Peninsula for some tuna and deep sea action, which is what the Bar Crusher is made for, so we will test it out some more.
Finally the Easytow trailer you use, just adds to the package. It makes the Bar Crusher easy to launch and retrieve, we usually drive off and drive on but with the full walkway down the trailer winching on is simple. Again, Well Done and Thanks.
